Art Nouveau corner building on Dušní and Dlouhá streets

A listed house from 1900

The house went up in 1900 as the Jewish Quarter was being rebuilt, with neo-baroque and Art Nouveau details, a mosaic-floored hall and a lift. In 2009 the Czech Ministry of Culture declared it a cultural monument; the ironmonger's shop on the ground floor traded from 1937 with its original fittings and is now a wine bar; there is a bakery in the house too.

Book your session a day ahead

Both are paid extras, reserved by the evening before. The sauna takes 45 minutes to heat. The sauna and the jacuzzi belong to the lower floor; guests of the suite use them only by agreement with the guests downstairs.

  1. With the whole penthouse or the lower floor: any time, with a day's notice.
  2. Guests of the suite: only if the guests of the lower floor agree, because the sauna stands in their bathroom and the jacuzzi on their terrace. The party that agrees receives part of your fee as a credit. Saying no is always fine.
  3. Ask by the evening before. We confirm the slot and add it to your booking.
  4. Shared sessions: the sauna in 90-minute sessions at 17:00, 19:00 and 21:00, the jacuzzi in 60-minute sessions between 10:00 and 22:00; one sauna session per evening.

Location

Josefov, the quiet heart of Old Town

Dušní street runs through the old Jewish Quarter, one block from Pařížská and a minute's walk from Old Town Square and its Astronomical Clock. The building is a listed corner house of 1900, a protected cultural monument with neo-baroque and Art Nouveau details, a lift and a hall with stained glass and a mosaic floor. There is a bakery in the building too. We are in the very heart of Prague and everything is a short walk away: Charles Bridge, the river, the cafés, the clubs and the galleries.

Good to know

Questions guests ask

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 11:00. Ask about earlier or later times; we say yes whenever the calendar allows.

Is someone around if we need anything?

Yes. We live in a separate, private part of the penthouse with its own entrance, so we are close by every day: for a late arrival, a sauna booking, a restaurant table or anything you need. Otherwise we stay out of your way.

Which bookings include the jacuzzi and the terrace?

The terrace belongs to the lower floor and the whole penthouse. The jacuzzi, like the sauna, is a paid extra booked in advance; guests of the suite use it by agreement with the guests downstairs. Ask us when you book.

Is there a city fee?

Prague charges an accommodation fee per person and night. It is shown separately at booking and we pass it on to the city.

Is the penthouse suitable for children?

The lower floor and the whole penthouse work well for families. The attic has sloping ceilings and the terrace has railings; tell us the children's ages and we will prepare the place.

Is there parking?

Old Town is a pedestrian and residents' zone. The nearest public garages are a short walk away; we send directions with your booking.

What do you need from me before arrival?

Czech law requires us to register every guest, so we ask for passport or ID details at online check-in before you arrive. It takes two minutes.
